Michael Joseph Dunleavy Sr a Brooklyn native, played at Nazareth Regional in Brooklyn, and at the University of  South Carolina (1972-76). In 1976 he was drafted in the 6th round, 99th overall pick selected by the Philadelphia 76ers (1976-77). Dunleavy played for  Carolina Lightning (1978), Houston Rockets (1978-82), San Antonio Spurs (1982-83), and the Milwaukee Bucks (1984-85, 1988-1990). When his playing career ended he coached at Milwaukee Bucks (assistant) (1988-90), Los Angeles Lakers (1990-92), Milwaukee Bucks (1992-96), Portland Trail Blazers (1997-2001), Los Angeles Clippers (2003-2010), and at Tulane University (2016-19).
