William Rubenstein a Bronx native, attended Theodore Roosevelt High School where he was a star. Rubenstein starred at New York University in his first season, 1933-34, NYU was undefeated, winning 16 games in a row. From 1936 to 1943 Rubenstein played professionally for the New York Worldwinds, New York Jewels, Tunkhannock, and New York.
