Charlie Davis attended Brooklyn Tech HS at the start of his playing career. The guard became the second African American to play at Wake Forest University and in 1971 the first African American to receive the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year Award. In 1971 he was drafted in the 8th round as the 120th pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers (1971-1972). Then he would play for the Portland Trail Blazers (1972-1973). In 1989 Davis returned to Wake Forest to work as an athletic administrator, then became the assistant athletic director. He goes on to also serve as an athletic director at Bowie State University and North Carolina A & T University in Greensboro.
