Phil Sellers Inducted in 2010
Phil "The Thrill" Sellers a Brooklyn native attended Thomas Jefferson High School where he became an All-American earning over 200 scholarship offers. Sellers initially signed his letter of intent with Notre Dame but reconsider and attended Livingston College, a part of Rutgers University. As a Scarlett Knight Sellers was coached by assistant coach Dick Vitale now a college basketball legend. Sellers led Rutgers to two NIT tournaments and back to-back NCAA tournament appearances in 1975-76. After graduation in 1976 Sellers was drafted in the third round by the Detroit Pistons. He later returned to Rutgers and served as an assistant coach for three years where they retired his No 12 jersey.
